About Us

japan_edited.jpg

Yakubo Joe (Y. J.) – I’m from Japan, I’ve always lived there. My aunt already lived in Lisbon and had a shop here. She was the one who told us there were many ramen restaurants in the city. My brother accepted the challenge of coming to Portugal to try the ramen served in all the Lisbon restaurants that offered it. He realized that the taste of the ramen was very different from what we have in Japan, and we believed in our potential to create something of quality. In August 2022, we opened the first Ramen Joe.

How the first Ramen Joe was born?

The joe special (ramen bowl) of Ramen Joe is specially segueset from Joe Since they have a thickness that prevents the soup from cooling, the aroma and delicious flavor remain intact until the moment when the customer lifts a spoonful of soup to his mouth. The unusual color of the Joe special remains beloved today by many customers as a symbol of Ramen Joe.

We invite you to try our ramen and savor its rich, delicious flavor down to the very last drop.

I trained with Master Suzuki Kiyotaka, one of the top ramen experts in Japan. With my dream of starting a business and my brother and I wanting to share the true flavor of ramen, we moved to Portugal. We found a spot near Praça do Rato and, in just one week, turned it into a cozy, Japanese-inspired space where people could enjoy authentic ramen.
